Scott Martin and Geno Laney Named to New Roles


Scott Martin, entering his 7th season with West Coast Elite UA, has been named Los Angeles High School Director. Most recently, he led our National team program that has seen commitments across levels of college basketball including Logan Cremonesi (UCLA), Casey Jones (Eastern Washington), Nolan Naess (Army), Tyler Weaver (Southern Utah), Ben Starks (CSUN), Nathan Medina (Biola), Jaden Penberthy (Biola), Brycen Shackelford (Chaminade), Kyle Monk (Fresno Pacific), Buckley DeJardin (Carnegie Mellon), Dylan Black (Carnegie Mellon), Will Householter (Claremont), and many more. 
 
Coach Martin is entering his 8th season at El Segundo High School where he serves as Associate Head Coach of the Varsity Boys Basketball team. He helped to lead the Eagles to their first league title in 20 years in 2020. He is the Director of Camps for West Coast Elite Basketball, hosting over 25 exposure camps across the Western United States. He also oversees the All-Academic Basketball camp circuit on the West Coast that attracts college coaches from around the country to recruit the top academic prospects. Coach Martin also runs a successful recruiting service, Attitude of Gratitude College Consulting, where he works with student-athletes and their families to create a path toward success in the recruiting process. Through the Attitude of Gratitude platform, he has helped place a number of student-athletes in college including John Christofilis (Creighton), JD Plough (USC), Brandon Nacario (Grinnell), Zach Bronson (Oberlin), Scott Ruegg (Colorado College), and many more. 
 
Geno Laney, entering his 5th season with West Coast Elite UA, has been named Los Angeles High School Assistant Director. Last season, he assisted our 17U LA National team and coached in our West Coast Elite UA Youth Division. He is the Assistant Director for the West Coast Elite Basketball camp circuit. Coach Laney is entering his 2nd season at El Segundo High School coaching the Junior Varsity team while also assisting with the Varsity team.
